QUESOS LA PERAL SL has been producing blue cheeses since 1923, the factory is now run by the third generation of the same family. La Peral is made by third generation cheesemakers Esther Alvarez and her husband Jose Luis Lopez at the family’s dairy. They have been making cheese here from the early 1900s. La Peral is named after a local village.

Description

Peralzola cheese is made entirely from carefully-selected milk from sheep raised in Asturias and is the only blue cheese made 100% with this type of milk. Its intense and slighlty spicy flavour makes it a very special cheese worthy of including on your best cheese boards.

Lesser know than the cheese from the same La Peral cheese factory made from cow’s milk, Peralzola cheese is rich in flavours and aromas obtained from its cellar maturing, which makes it a very balanced and stunning cheese.

It works wonderfully as part of a cheese board and pairs beautifully with our fig and almond wheel and a PX sherry, such as Noe.
