Quaranta’s torrone is the soft, chewy kind – honey, sugar and whipped egg white beaten into a light nougat with whole nuts – and the bags are made to the family’s original recipe with no preservatives. This one is flavoured with pistachio.
Quaranta is a family nougat maker founded in 1924 in Caravaggio, near Bergamo in Lombardy, not far from Milan, and still works from the recipe of its founder Antonio Quaranta. The company celebrated its centenary in 2024, and is known for its soft torrone, which is lighter and more yielding than the hard, snappy kind.
