Founded by Kevin Forssmann Russell, Azada was born at the start of 2009.
In the 1970s Kevin’s father bought an abandoned plot of land in Tivissa, province of Tarragona. The plot had a small cottage on it which was surrounded by fields of almond and hazelnut trees which had long lost their yield. His father dreamed of restoring the plot and returning to the traditional form of harvesting.
So to begin with the plot was harvested with just the use of a hoe or ‘azada’ in Spanish. During the following years 20 additional hectares were purchased on which hazelnut, cherry and olive trees could be found and the business grew from strength to strength.
This speciality oil is purely made from 100% Arbequina olives and local white summer truffles, which is made without any artificial aromas or additives. So, why not spruce up your meals with this delicious oil.
It is an oil with an intense and complex aroma. This oil is excellent for risottos, pastas, creams and salads, allowing you to enjoy this unique flavour all year round.
