Port Vell, the place, is part of Barcelona’s harbour and one of the most beautiful areas of the city. The imposing and iconic Clock Tower on the label was originally built as a light-house in 1772.
Made by Distilleries del Maresme (born in 1875), one of the first craft distilleries in Catalonia with more than 140 years of history. The artisan production process and high-quality products began to stand out among the spirit drinks and liquors of the country, producing some of the finest gin in Spain.
The distilery on the coastal area of El Maresme, explore the region in search of the best selected ingredients. This unique location provides the Mediterranean essence on the ingredients and aromas used on the gin.
Named in honour of the ancient Port at Barcelona, Port Vell is a bottle of good memories, a handful of aromas, flavours and sensations. A fast trip to Barcelona!
Crystal clear, with a classic juniper nose with a touch of citrus and balsam. On the taste, clean, dry and nicely bitter, yet smooth aromatic and unctuous.
The botanicals used include angelica root, bitter orange peel, calamus, clove, coriander, ginger, juniper and lemon peel.
Serve with a slice of fresh ginger and a couple of cardamom pods.
