Cantucci are the twice-baked almond biscuits of Tuscany, dry and crunchy and made for dipping. Marabissi take their classic almond cantucci, made with butter and eggs, and give them a thick coating of chocolate, so you get the snap of the biscuit and a layer of melting chocolate at once. A 150g pack.
Marabissi was started more than 60 years ago in Chianciano Terme, in the Siena hills of southern Tuscany, by Signora Jole, who baked cantucci to an old family recipe. Three generations on, the family business has grown from a small pastry shop into one of Tuscany’s best-known biscuit makers, still working by hand in the Tuscan tradition with carefully chosen ingredients.
Serve with coffee after dinner, or in the Tuscan way with a glass of Vin Santo – Marabissi also suggest a brandy.
