A small, neat box of traditional marzipan fruits. Maffren shape each one from almond paste made with 33% almonds and French sugar, paint it by hand and give it a light shine. Because the almond content is high, they have a soft, fine texture and taste properly of almonds rather than just sweetness. The 80g box holds an assortment of fruits.
Maffren was founded in 1945 by Daniel Maffren and, since the 1980s, has worked from a former chocolate factory in the village of Le Poët in the Hautes-Alpes. Along the way they bought the almond paste maker Verger du Roy and the Confiserie des Alpes brand, and today they make calissons, nougat, caramels and almond paste, holding the French Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label for heritage craft businesses.
