La Praline’s salted caramel truffles have a soft, creamy centre made with cocoa and coconut fat, studded with small caramel nuggets and rolled in cocoa powder. The texture is the point – they melt away almost instantly, leaving the little bits of caramel to chew on at the end. Each 200g box holds around 20 to 22 truffles.
The business was started in 2001 by Jean-Claude and Katharina Eggel as a chocolate shop in the Linné district of Gothenburg. In 2011 they began making truffles themselves, and they say they are the only company in Scandinavia to do so. It remains a small family firm, with production in Viared, Borås, since 2019.
Easy to share with coffee after dinner, and a good stocking filler for caramel lovers.
