A classic pairing done the Scandinavian way. La Praline’s orange truffles have a creamy, soft centre made with cocoa and coconut fat, flavoured with orange and flecked with little orange flakes, then rolled in cocoa powder. They melt almost as soon as you bite, with the orange lifting the cocoa. Each 200g box holds around 20 to 22 truffles.
La Praline was started in 2001 by Jean-Claude and Katharina Eggel as a chocolate shop in the Linné district of Gothenburg. After years selling European chocolate, they began making their own truffles in 2011 and say they are the only company in Scandinavia to do so. The family still runs it, and production has been in Viared, Borås, since 2019.
One for fans of chocolate orange at Christmas – lovely with coffee or a glass of something after dinner.
