Black Forest is Choc Amor’s take on the classic gateau: sweet and sour cherry set in their rich 61% dark chocolate. The cherry gives it a sharp, fruity lift against the depth of the dark chocolate, which is exactly what makes the cake work. It comes in a 150g gift tub.
Choc Amor was founded in 2012 by chocolatier Paul Williams and his wife Jacqui, starting out in their family kitchen in Yorkshire. Paul approaches chocolate like a chef, pairing it with ingredients most chocolatiers would never go near, and it has won them awards at both the International Chocolate Awards and the Great Taste Awards. They use single-origin Colombian chocolate, bought through partners who work directly with the farmers.
A nice one for dark chocolate fans, and lovely with a glass of kirsch or a small port after dinner.
