Torrons Vicens, from the village of Agramunt in Lleida, Catalonia, has been making turrón since 1775. This bar takes inspiration from crema catalana, the burnt-sugar custard dessert of Catalonia, in a turrón developed with chef Albert Adrià.
The Vicens crema catalana turrón combines ground roasted almonds, caramel praline, carquinyolis biscuits, chocolate and a cream liqueur. This version also brings in ratafia, the traditional Catalan herb liqueur.
Turrón is the traditional Spanish Christmas sweet. Slice thinly and serve with coffee or dessert wine, or share it after a festive meal.
