About

Pansa Blanca, also known as Xarel·lo in the Penedès region, is a white grape variety cultivated extensively within the Denominació d’Origen (DO) Alella. This DO, one of the oldest and smallest in Catalonia, boasts a unique microclimate influenced by its proximity to the sea and the pre-coastal mountain range.  Intensely fruity upfront, with crystalline notes of ripe citrus and green apple. This leads on to a herbal, savoury and stony streak which runs through the backbone of the wine. The finish is long and elegant – a wine with real balance and poise.

Description

Pansa Blanca is named after the D.O. Alella’s native grape variety. This Designation of Origin, located to the north of Barcelona, is one of the smallest and oldest in Spain.  The Raventós de Alella winery seeks to express the Mediterranean character of the region in this wine. The result is a white wine with intense aromas of white fruit and tropical notes.  Everyone who tries it comes back for more, perhaps due to its creamy texture.

From the fabulous boutique Parxet winery, just outside Barcelona.  Named after the grapes indigenous to the area.  This is elegance personified. Creamy, mouth-filling fruity wine.  Bananas on the nose, citrus and green apple on the palate, this powerful wine is full of character and will have you filling the restaurant with outrageous noises with every sip!
