This gift set is built around a 70cl bottle of limoncello from Antica Distilleria Petrone, near Naples, made to a 130-year-old recipe using IGP lemons from Sorrento. These lemons carry a higher natural level of essential oils, giving the limoncello a particularly vivid, refreshing lemon character with bright citrus notes and a clean, sparkling finish.
Antica Distilleria Petrone is based in Mondragone, just north of Naples. In 2011 its limoncello was chosen by a panel of international experts to represent Italy as part of the Excellence in Food programme. The set includes two handmade, hand-painted limoncello beakers for serving it properly chilled, as a digestif.
