From our range of Catalan papier mache artwork produced by Dadalite which is Macarena Liendo and Jordi Bielsa in Breda.  Papier Mache has been a traditional artform in Catalunya for many centuries. They’re  using pure pigments, rescuing pictorial techniques inherited from the Renaissance, and exquisite materials. They are ancient procedures combined with modern pigments and techniques, thus generating a very characteristic visual impact of their work. With influences from Piero della Francesca. Bruegel. Dalí. Grandville. Masliah. Gould. Brassens, there are also elements of Gaudi and Miro in these figures, with their surreal and exaggerated features.  Based around a wire frame, with paper and card pulp shaped around them, they are painted in vivid and vibrant colours, often with detailed patterns.

Each piece is unique, both in terms of design and colour and pigmentation.  We have been displaying these figures in the restaurant ever since we have been open. An opportunity to have a unique piece of artwork at a brilliant price.
