Joan Sarda Cava

Joan Sardà is a winery located in the town of Castellví de la Marca, in the Alt Penedès region (Barcelona). The Masia Olivella estate is home to our winery; it is an original 17th century farmhouse, which is a living testimony of years of winemaking tradition.

Founded in 1927, the Joan Sardà winery is located in the Alt Penedès region of Catalonia, north-east Spain. The Alt Penedès is an enclave nestled between the cities of Barcelona and Tarragona, and 20km inland from the Mediterranean Sea. The 17th century farmhouse is home to a state-of-the-art winery, surrounded by 12 hectares of vineyards grown organically, and mainly planted with indigenous varietals. This cava reserva has evocative scents of acacia blossom, yellow plum and salted almonds on the nose. Made according to the traditional sparkling wine method, and aged for 24 months on lees, this sparkling wine displays rich orchard fruit character, laced with almond and brioche. Balanced and elegant, with an enticing creamy mousse and a refreshing saline zing.
