The Osborne Group is the owner of brands such as Fino Quinta, Magno, 103, Toro, Conde de Osborne, Jamones 5J, Montecillo, Osborne Malpica, Anís del Mono and Solán de Cabras. The sherries and brandies produced by the Osborne Group, in its home town of El Puerto de Santa María, are protected under the denomination of origin “Jerez-Xérès-Sherry,” and the specific denomination “Brandy de Jerez.”

Founded in 1772, the Osborne Group is considered to be one of the world’s oldest firms still active in business (ranked 94th) and the second oldest in Spain.

This Spanish Brandy is obtained from “holandas” (low alcohol content wine spirits) and wine spirits combined with selected distillates of agricultural origin. It’s production and ageing process is characterized by ageing in American oak casks previously seasoned with “Fino” wines from Jerez, following the traditional dynamic ageing processes known as “Criaderas” and “Soleras”.

It is pale gold color, shiny and bright.

Smell: Medium intensity, fragrant, with a bouquet reminiscent of ripe peach and a delicate touch of oak.Warm and balanced.

Taste: Gentle, pleasant and persistent, with a slight medium-sweet flavor.

The Osborne sherry company erected large images of bulls starting in 1956 to advertise their Brandy de Jerez. The images were black (with the brand “Veterano” in red on it) advertising boards located near major roads throughout Spain.
In 1994 the EU passed a law that prohibited all roadside advertising of alcoholic beverages, and the bulls were therefore to be removed. By this time the signs were nationally renowned, so although some campaigners wished them completely removed to fully comply with the intent of the law, public response resulted in the signs being retained, but completely blacked out to remove all reference to the original advertisers. The Court eventually allowed these signs to remain on the grounds that they have become a part of the landscape and have “aesthetic or cultural significance”, thus turning the bulls into public domain images.
