We are delighted that the Gonzalez Byass bodega has once again offered us an allocation of its fabulous Tio Pepe ‘En Rama’, bottled annually at this time of year. ‘En Rama’ means literally ‘off the branch’ which is their way of describing how fresh this Fino sherry tastes. Tio Pepe has a fine reputation anyway, but if you like, this is the cream off the top! The ‘flor’ has burst back into life after a dormant winter which invigorates the barrels and gives this already classy wine a bit of extra zip. It is quite delicious.
