French Onions just don’t come much better than this. The Roscoff pink French onions are renowned as one of the best varieties in the world, having a delicious sweetness of flavour and long lasting. These Onions and Shallots in typical French style strings will normally be available between August and February each year and are the classic onions sold by the Breton Johnnie Onions and their famed bicycles!

The Roscoff pink onions owe their name to the colour of their skin and flesh and have been grown around the Finistère town of Roscoff for the past 400 years when a monk brought back a few seeds which he then planted in the monastery garden.

Roscoff pink onions are planted between mid-February and mid-April and once harvested from early August onwards the onions are destined for plaits.
The Onions are rich in vitamin C and can be enjoyed raw or cooked, in tarts, soups, confits etc.
