This set of flavoured Mediterranean olive oils are a favourite in the kitchen. They are beautifully presented in 4 miniature sized bottles, perfect for one person as a gift to enjoy at lunchtime with a salad or over a night feast. The oils are obtained by pressing and crushing olives together with 100% natural and locally sourced flavourful ingredients. The set contains: Olive Oil & Basil, Olive Oil & Chilli, Olive Oil & Lemon and Olive Oil & Garlic.
Founded by Kevin Forssmann Russell, Azada was born at the start of 2009.
In the 1970s Kevin’s father bought an abandoned plot of land in Tivissa, province of Tarragona. The plot had a small cottage on it which was surrounded by fields of almond and hazelnut trees which had long lost their yield. His father dreamed of restoring the plot and returning to the traditional form of harvesting.
So to begin with the plot was harvested with just the use of a hoe or ‘azada’ in Spanish. During the following years 20 additional hectares were purchased on which hazelnut, cherry and olive trees could be found and the business grew from strength to strength.
Unlike most flavoured oils on the market, these oils are not infused but produced by cold-pressing Arbequina olives from Catalunya together with four different ingredients Basil, Chilli, Garlic and Lemon to obtain their own oils.
This produces an incredible depth of flavour, which is more stable than an infused oil and also retains its vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.
This set comes in opaque glass bottles (which stop light affecting the quality of the oil) in a pretty little card box.
